The Roots are a sentient colony of flora, fungus and the repurposed bones of the fallen. They are neither good nor evil, they simply are. Whatever they encounter is either of use, hostile or helpful and they treat them accordingly. But for the other species of Aerbor they're a monstrous forest where the dead come alive and everything is out to kill you.
